For this reason, the prefecture sent a sample to a national laboratory and found that it was infected with classical swine fever.

In response to this, the prefecture has begun culling approximately 11,900 pigs in total, including pig farms in Ogawara Town and related pigs, from the night of the 12th.

In the prefecture, vaccination has been completed at all pig farms so far, so there are no restrictions on movement or export to other pig farms.

According to the prefecture, since 2007 when the national government declared the end of the infection of classical swine fever, it was confirmed that wild boars were infected in Shichikashuku-cho in June this year in Miyagi prefecture.
