Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi attends the launch of the first edition of the Sharjah Events Festival

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, stressed the diversity of events organized by the departments and authorities of the Emirate of Sharjah, to meet the various interests and needs of groups and segments of society, and to support the development process that the Emirate of Sharjah adopted and worked on.
This came during the inauguration of His Highness, this Friday afternoon, the first session of the "Sharjah Events Festival", which is organized by the "Sharjah Events" initiative of the Sharjah Government Media Office, at Al Majaz Theatre, under the slogan "It shines with its activities."
His Highness pointed out that the increasing demand for various events in the emirate reflects its success, and the diversity of its cultural, artistic, social, sports, entertainment and other fields, with constructive cooperation between the public and private sectors, which supports the emirate's aspiration for an integrated interest in all family members and society.
During the ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi launched the agenda of events organized by the departments and authorities of the Emirate of Sharjah in the year 2022 AD, in various cultural, economic, scientific, heritage, sports, artistic and recreational fields, targeting all segments of society.
Alia Bu Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Government Media Office, said, "Since the launch of (Sharjah Events website), the vision has been clear in highlighting the activities and events that the emirate is rich in with the cooperation and participation of its public and private sectors, according to one integrated platform that gives it its right of attention, and is reflected in the media presence. She added, "This initiative is one of the fruits of the Sharjah Events website, and more than 25 government and private departments and institutions are participating in its first session, all working in a team spirit to celebrate the emirate's achievements in a distinctive festive atmosphere, as we move towards a new year full of goals and visions."
His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi and the audience followed the singing show "Sharjah Shines", and the ceremony included various segments that included fireworks and artistic and entertainment shows.
Prior to the opening ceremony, His Highness toured the various sections of the festival, and was introduced to the pavilions in charge of the events and activities it offers for children and adults.
His Highness stopped at the pavilion of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, the Department of Social Services, the General Directorate of Civil Defense, and the General Command of Sharjah Police.
During the tour, His Highness was also acquainted with the participation of the Environment and Natural Reserves Authority, the various activities of the Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), the Sharjah Private Education Authority, and a number of pavilions of various institutions.
More than 25 government and private entities and institutions in the emirate are participating in the festival, which will provide a series of diverse events and activities that highlight the entertainment and educational programs Sharjah offers to the community throughout the year.
