INTERVIEW

This annual TV meeting will be back on Saturday, live from the Zénith in Caen and on TF1.

The 29 regional Miss will try to win the crown of Miss France and succeed Amandine Petit, who ends her year of reign.

A moment that she saw with a little nostalgia, but also relief.

"I lived a year full of emotions, strong in meetings, strong in enrichment, strong in travel, with a schedule still heavily loaded," she explains at the microphone of Europe 1.

"But I loved that year. And I'm delighted to give up my place, because it's a daydream that we live during this year, and if we were not to give up our place at some point , I would not have had access to it a year ago ", adds Amandine Petit.

"I am delighted to be able to breathe and to know that the sleepover tomorrow will be mine."

An evening on the theme of musicals

After an edition last year which broke all audience records, TF1 is this time focusing on a very popular theme for the evening: musicals. On the program, choreographies and parades on the music of

Chicago

,

Mamma Mia

,

West Side Story

,

La la Land

,

Mary Poppins

, but also 30 tap dancers, dances in the water on

Singing in The Rain

and a gospel group singing

The Lion King

for the opening table.

At the presentation, viewers will find Jean-Pierre Foucault, alongside Sylvie Tellier.

"As soon as the election, I begin my preparation for the following year", he confides to Europe 1. "We can not arrive at Miss France hands in pockets: it is a program of entertainment that must be taken seriously, as this is almost the only major three-hour show entirely live from French television. It requires the most intense concentration. "

"Not everyone can participate in Miss France, it's true"

As always, the ceremony had its share of controversy.

This year, it is the association "Osez le Féminisme" which denounced the sexism of the competition and pushed the production to pay the 29 young women who will compete for the title of Miss France.

A first in the history of the ceremony.

Sylvie Tellier, who did not wish to react directly to this announcement, nevertheless wanted to defend the competition once again.

Who will be the president and the six members of the jury of Miss France 2022?

"The success of the show itself responds to controversies. We had audience records last year, people love Miss France. It refers to notions of territories. We like the idea that a young person woman who could be our neighbor or our sister is running for an election that can change her life. Miss France, it's a magic wand, "she said.

"Not everyone can participate in Miss France, it's true, there are registration conditions. But everyone can watch and live this dream through candidates. That surely explains its success."

It remains to be seen whether the 2022 election will also beat an audience record on Saturday night on TF1.
