In a trial of a suspected double murder out of jealousy, the Nuremberg-Fürth district court has imposed a life sentence on the 67-year-old defendant.

In addition, with their verdict on Thursday, the judges determined the particular gravity of the guilt, which means that early release after 15 years is largely excluded.

According to a spokesman for the judiciary, the court saw the murder characteristics of the treachery and the base motives as fulfilled.

The victims did not expect the attack, the woman was shot from behind.

From the Chamber's point of view, he acted out of an imagination and a blatantly contradicting attitude towards local values in order to restore the “family honor” through his act.

At the expense of the accused, the judges counted, in addition to fulfilling the two murder criteria, that the woman was shot in front of the son.

In favor of the accused, the court reckoned according to the spokesman that he had no criminal record and that the fatal shots were allowed.

With the judgment, the court followed the demands of the public prosecutor's office.

The defenders of the shooter judged the act in the process as manslaughter, for which a temporary prison sentence would have been possible.

The defendant had denied a motive for jealousy at the beginning of the trial and explained the fatal shots at his wife and an acquaintance, who lived separately from him, with a dispute over money.

On the other hand, the public prosecutor and the court are convinced that Ibrahim D. wrongly assumed that his wife was separated.
