Recently, when Asian elephant monitors in Simao District, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province were monitoring an Asian elephant group that had been active around Simao City in recent times, they accidentally discovered that the elephant group originally had only nine heads had an extra baby elephant.
According to reports, this elephant herd entered Liushun Town, Simao District, Pu'er City from Jingne Township, Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Prefecture on August 9 this year. To ensure the safety of the elephants, the local organization organized relevant staff to guide them out of the city.
Regarding Asian elephant activities, Pu'er City has strengthened monitoring of their whereabouts, and issued early warnings through SMS, WeChat, and phone calls to remind people in the area where the Asian elephants are located to avoid in time.
