Ukraine is not except for a paradox: the country is one of the poorest economies on the continent.

But lately, Kiev is experiencing an unprecedented boom in the IT sector and, more specifically, in cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoins and crypto-dollars are widely used by the influential new class of young computer engineers and start-up executives.

This is also increasingly the case in broader layers of society to such an extent that the

New York Times

recently called Kiev the " 

crypto-capital of the world

 ."

Against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ukraine is experiencing a profound movement to digitize its economy, even in daily use.
