The US federal justice has chosen to dismiss the complaint filed by Rose McGowan against Harvey Weinstein.

The actress accused the co-founder of Miramax of trying to silence her, when she decided to denounce the producer of sexual assault at the end of 2016.

According to the procedure she began at the end of 2019, Harvey Weinstein and his lawyers would have spied on her and invented stories to discredit her, in addition to other means of pressure.

Justice had already rejected part of her claim last year, her case having been deemed too light to lead to an indictment, but she had until December 3 to strengthen it.

, after firing her lawyer at the end of November and being granted the right to represent herself, Rose McGowan let the deadline pass without providing further evidence in her case.

Without new information, the judge therefore dismissed the case.

The actress was one of the first to publicly denounce the actions of Harvey Weinstein, spawning the #MeToo movement and the free speech of women around the world.

Harvey Weinstein is not out of the woods, however.

The deposed producer was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape in New York State and is awaiting further proceedings for several sex crimes in Los Angeles.

He pleaded not guilty at a hearing in September.

The trial is not expected to take place until next spring.
