• Christmas is about garlands, trees, but also "rose water" series and TV movies.

For the occasion, we asked our readers to tell us about their love story, which would have nothing to envy them.

  • Bring out your best blankets and sweets, it's marshmallow time.

In this first episode, Fabien tells us how he found a crush of youth.

It's Christmas and, here, we are not the “Grinch” type to shy away from our pleasure.

No, when that time of year comes, we want all the decorum.

The garlands, the mulled wine, the chocolate, the tree, the whole thing.

And that even includes the somewhat old-fashioned and phone-in Christmas romantic comedies.

But this year we have a little twist.

No offense to

Love Actually

,

The Holiday

or

Christmas Flow

, this time the beautiful Christmas love story takes place in the real world.

Take out the plaids and hot chocolate, we'll tell you about Fabien's romance.

Attracted from high school

We set the scene. We are in a small village in the North of France, ten years ago and Fabien, who will be our protagonist, is a high school student like any other. You see the atmosphere, first flirtations, first loves, all kinds of first times… which also include the first missed acts. “I had a big crush, but without ever daring to talk to him about it,” he tells us. That crush, he was for Annabelle, and even though our hero later learned that this interest "was a two-way street", it wasn't the right time yet, it wasn't their time.

High school ends and everyone goes on with their lives.

Fabien settles in Lille, Annabelle leaves for Marseille.

Broken heart violins and emojis.

There, clearly, in Fabien's head, it's "a little dead", as he says.

But “something” prevents him from completely giving up.

And despite the distance, he continues to write to her about once a year.

Fabien if you read these lines, as you did well.

She finds "the somewhat boorish guy from the North"

Fast forward, ten years later.

A little before the first confinement, our two future lovebirds (we don't really spoil you, you had read the title) talk to each other a little more regularly, and Fabien knows that she knows he likes her.

Even though, at the time, he thought he was "in the friendzone."

"" She gave me a hard time, "he admits.

Christmas 2020 arrives and Annabelle returns to the lands of her childhood for the holidays.

Fabien, who lives in Lille, picks her up at the station to bring her back to the village where their two families are.

Despite the time that has elapsed, the complicity is obvious, they both take advantage of "the capital of Flanders", but our hero admits it, he has a little "dropped the matter.

She, no.

She is even delighted to find "the somewhat boorish guy from the North".

A kiss under the snow

And it is in this small village of their childhood, at the top of the map, that everything is unraveled. After a few hours spent chatting, laughing, and making up for lost time, time freezes and we get into the “TV movie cliché”, says Fabien. “It was still curfew, so time was running out. And there, under the Christmas decorations, under the snow, in front of the church tower, we kissed, ”he says. Do not throw any more, and pass us Netflix, we have a great story to sell them. The days that followed, the two lovers saw each other daily. Strolls in the village "like teenagers", a little in secret, to keep this budding love just for them. A beautiful story was born.

In a Christmas TV movie, normally, it should end there.

But the advantage of reality is that we can know the rest.

After five months of back and forth between Lille and Marseille, Annabelle ended up coming back to settle in the North, where ten years earlier, two slightly shy teenagers had not dared to say that they liked each other.
