A demonstration experiment was started at Kinki University in Osaka to encourage students to bring their own "My Bottle" without using PET bottles in order to reduce plastic waste.

This is a demonstration experiment that Kinki University started on December 1st on the campus of Higashi-Osaka City in collaboration with a major manufacturer, Zojirushi Mahobin.

In the experiment, a drink server for juice and tea was set up on campus, and if the participating students and faculty members bring "My Bottle", they can drink drinks up to three times a day for free.

Next to the drink server, there is also a dedicated washing machine developed by the manufacturer so that you can use My Bottle repeatedly.

A male student who brought my bottle said, "I was reluctant to use my bottle because I didn't have a place to wash it, but it's easy to use. I think it's a necessary initiative in this era."

According to the university, the annual consumption of PET bottles in Japan is 183 bottles per person, and if about 25,000 students on this campus switch to My Bottle, it will be reduced by about 4.6 million bottles. I estimate that it will be connected.

Professor Yukio Koden of the Faculty of Business Administration of Kinki University, who is working on the experiment, said, "I want you to get into the habit of bringing your own bottles first, aiming for a university that does not use PET bottles, and use that as an opportunity to think about environmental issues." ..

The experiment will run until December 24th and will analyze the amount of PET bottles that have been reduced.
