Better to listen to sleep aid music

Inability to fall asleep at night or wake up during the day has become the most suitable "sleep portrait" for urban people.

As people pay more and more attention to sleep problems, sleep music has been widely used in the treatment of sleep disorders due to its smooth and soothing melody and rhythm.

Sleep disorder has become a hidden health hazard for modern people

Reports from research institutions often show that a large number of people face sleep disorders, and sleep disorders have become a hidden health hazard that cannot be ignored by modern people.

As people pay more and more attention to this problem, various sleep aid products and methods are becoming more abundant.

According to related studies such as the China Sleep Economy Report 2020, the market size of sleep-related industries has exceeded 400 billion in 2020 and is expected to exceed one trillion in 2030.

At present, there are many categories of products and services focusing on "sleep assistance", involving smart electronic products, daily necessities, aromatherapy products, audio apps and other categories.

Among them, sleep music, as a means of treating and relieving sleep disorders, has been recognized by more and more users and valued by related companies.

The "Sleep Music Research White Paper" released by Dragonfly FM shows that nearly three-quarters of the people have sleep problems, such as insufficient sleep time, low sleep quality, easy to have nightmares or easy to wake up, and long sleep time.

Among them, those who slept for less than 8 hours accounted for more than 76.5%.

Among them, men stay up late, and 27% of men choose to fall asleep after early morning, which also promotes a higher proportion of men who sleep less than 6 hours.

Gradually entering the "community animal" stage, the post-95s are adhering to the generation Z belief of "the more the night is, the more exciting it is". It has become a habit of half of the people to stay up late to put down electronic products after the early hours of the morning.

However, the post-90s and post-80s generations seem to have started the journey of health preservation, and the proportion of falling asleep before zero is gradually increasing.

57% of insomniacs fall asleep listening to sleep aid music

The endless hot search, the unwinnable game "this round", the endless question bank... Both men and women have their own reasons for insomnia.

The visual stimulus of indulging in short videos has become the number one sleep killer of all ages, "The moon doesn't sleep, I don't sleep".

Compared with post-00s who are in the question bank for night battles and post-90s who can't find a target and can't sleep, the main reason for insomnia after 80s is the incomplete KPI and the endless Huabei.

The livelihood pressure has become an unshakable obstacle between middle age and falling asleep.

When facing insomnia, listening to sleep aid music has become a new choice for insomniacs before going to bed compared to meditation before going to bed, soaking feet for health, proper exercise and other ways to improve sleep.

The survey shows that post-00s prefer to use meditation before going to bed to sleep smoothly. Post-90s have quietly joined the health regimen. The number of people who soak their feet before going to bed to relieve insomnia has reached 22.3%, which is twice the number of post-00s.

At the same time, 28.9% of the post-80s started to exercise moderately such as night running to improve their sleep quality.

But for people with insomnia, 57% of the population will choose to listen to sleep aid music to fall asleep.

Sleep aid music should be stable and not easy to "brainwash"

For listening to music to help sleep, whether it is from a physical or psychological level, there is evidence to follow.

From the physiological level, the introduction of music into the body will cause a harmonious and synchronized resonance of human tissue cells, thereby regulating the human biological rhythm.

At the same time, music sound waves also have a benign stimulus to the central nervous system and endocrine system, thereby promoting the body's metabolism.

From a psychological level, music can cause changes in the listener's mood. At the same time, music will also guide people to devote themselves to the artistic conception and connotation of music, helping to relieve negative emotions such as anxiety.

In addition, music sleep aids also have a "masking effect": that is, a moderate amount of music can help block other noise effects, and use the familiar and comfortable tones of the brain to achieve the effect of helping sleep with the sound of the screen.

However, not all music is called "sleep aid music."

Sleep-aid music is created to alleviate sleep problems and improve sleep quality. It is unique in terms of guiding ideology, creative techniques, and music style.

In terms of music structure, sleep aid music also has obvious characteristics of "stationarity", that is, the emotions, melody, and rhythm expressed in the work are relatively stable, and it is not easy to form "brainwashed" memories.

According to the characteristics of sleep aid music, currently more suitable music types are light music, some classical music, music box, white noise and natural sound.

The survey shows that light music is the most popular among people with insomnia, accounting for 49%, and natural music and classical music are the second and third places, accounting for 26% and 10%, respectively.

Affected by the promotion of some sleep aid apps, young people also show a higher preference for white noise.

According to the feedback results, 80% of users believe that sleep aid music is obviously helpful for sleep improvement.

After listening to sleep aid music, the proportion of people who fell asleep for half an hour rose from 38.4% to 49.4% of those who did not listen to sleep aid music.
