According to police, security forces became aware of the suspect after a bang was heard in his home and a fire broke out.
Armed with an AK-47, the man is said to have first shot his wife and later targeted people in the neighborhood indiscriminately.
The motive was initially unclear.
After the crime, there were protests by mourners demanding compensation.
Tires were burned and an expressway was blocked.
