(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) Hong Kong adds 9 imported cases, and 4 regions including Chile are included in designated areas of Group A

  China News Service, Hong Kong, December 5th. Hong Kong added 9 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia on the 5th, all of which were imported cases.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government announced that it will designate Chile, the Cook Islands, Luxembourg and Romania as Group A designated areas starting at midnight on December 8, and tighten boarding and quarantine requirements for people arriving in Hong Kong.

  The 9 newly confirmed cases involved 9 men, aged between 25 and 62 years old, all of whom were asymptomatic, and all of them carried the mutant virus strain L452R.

So far, the total number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong has increased to 12,461.

  Of the 9 patients diagnosed that day, 6 were crew members. They arrived in Hong Kong on a cargo ship from Japan on December 1. A crew member of the cargo ship (case number 12453) was diagnosed earlier. The Center for Health Protection, Department of Health, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region On the 3rd, samples were collected on the ship for other crew members who were undergoing quarantine on the ship. The 6 people tested positive.

The rest of the crew on the cargo ship must stay on board for quarantine and be tested according to the current arrangements during the quarantine period.

  On the same day, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government announced that in response to the confirmed cases of Ome Keron in Chile, the Cook Islands, Luxembourg and Romania, the Special Administrative Region government will designate these areas as designated areas in Group A, which will take effect at midnight on December 8.

Non-Hong Kong residents who have stayed there within 21 days are not allowed to enter the country.

Hong Kong residents must have completed the COVID-19 vaccination and have an approved vaccination record before they can board the flight back to Hong Kong, and undergo a 21-day compulsory quarantine at the designated quarantine hotel after arriving in Hong Kong, during which they undergo 6 tests, and must be on the 26th day of arrival in Hong Kong Go to the community testing center to accept mandatory testing.
