"Physical distancing is not respected"

For Emmanuel Andrès, president of the Medical Commission for the establishment of Strasbourg University Hospitals, the Christmas market, which opened a week ago, undoubtedly contributes to this resumption of the epidemic in the Alsatian capital. "We can see that physical distancing is not respected, that people do not have a mask, even outside of the times when they are eating. So, of course, that worries us a lot," he said to the microphone from Europe 1.

"And I will not make a direct link because I have no proof. But the Christmas market opened a few days ago and there, we are doubling, as if by chance, our hospitalizations", notes Emmanuel Andrès. .

"We can see the incidence which increases in all the figures in the city. It is an eminently political question. The mayor of Strasbourg and the prefect will take their responsibilities", he explains on Europe 1.
