In preparation for the re-expansion of the new coronavirus infection, Saitama Prefecture has announced plans for a new medical care provision system, such as securing more than 270 beds required.

This was revealed by Governor Ohno at a press conference on the 2nd.

According to this, in case the infection spreads to the same extent as the 5th wave in the future, the number of beds will be increased from the current 1904 beds to 2176 beds.

In addition, based on the lessons learned from the fact that the health center was unable to sufficiently observe the health of infected persons in the 5th wave, a support system for the health center was established so that all newly infected persons could be contacted by the day after the infection was confirmed at the latest. We are strengthening and expect to dispatch a maximum of about 250 nurses and clerical staff.

Governor Ohno said, "In the 6th wave that is expected in the future, there are some aspects such as the new mutant strain Omicron strain, but I do not know what will happen, but I would like to prepare a system so that I can respond with a margin." ..
