• Route Travel back in time through the tastiest and least known Jewish quarters in Spain

  • Discover all the charms of Matarraña, Spanish Tuscany

They were former convents, castles, manor houses, wineries and even an old chocolate factory.

Today they have become small rural hotels with an average of

15 rooms

scattered throughout Castilla y León.

For the traveler, here is another way of doing tourism and knowing part of our history at the same time.

For the towns that host them, the inn is a formula to energize the rural world and the now recurrent

depopulated Spain

.

"There is no single type of accommodation," explains Félix Bautista, president of the Association of the Posadas Reales, a quality brand that is about to turn 20, despite the little noise they make.

The network is made up of

39 members

.

"They are all located in

buildings with historical value

that preserve their traditional appearance. The traveler is made to live a different experience with a

very close treatment

of the owners who, in addition to owners, are also usually the ones we serve".

The difficult thing is to choose between the eight posadas in Zamora, the seven in Soria, the six in Salamanca ... here they are all.

There are some such as the Castillo del Buen Amor, a 15th century castle-palace with five green stars (the category of rural accommodation), but establishments of four predominate.

These are some of the most charming and well-priced inns: none of them exceed 100 euros a night.

sauna

, a living room with a fireplace, daily menus of Castilian cuisine and even

bicycle rental
