At Frankfurt Airport, federal police arrested a 31-year-old after escaping across the tarmac.

After landing, the man who had traveled from Dubai left the bus transfer to the gate without permission on Wednesday and initially sneaked onto the apron, as the federal police at the airport announced on Thursday.

When a patrol became aware of him, he fled to the tarmac.

After a short escape, federal police officers found and arrested the Moroccan citizen.

Due to the incident, German air traffic control did not issue take-off and landing clearances for the runways concerned for eleven minutes.

According to the information, a machine on the approach had to take off again to prevent a collision with the fugitive.

Investigations were initiated against the 31-year-old for dangerous interference in air traffic and for unauthorized entry.

The 31-year-old stated in his interrogation that he wanted to visit his wife in the Netherlands.

Since he did not get a visa for this, he tried to enter the country unrecognized.

The man was to be sent back to Dubai.
