Since many patients suffer from symptoms that appear to be sequelae after infection with the new coronavirus, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has released a guide for medical professionals that summarizes the points of medical care regarding sequelae and how to deal with patients.

This guide was compiled as a provisional version by a committee made up of infectious disease experts, and was presented at an expert meeting of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare held on the 1st.

Although there are many unclear points about the sequelae, it is said that various sequelae occur in some patients who have been cured of the new coronavirus. I named it "symptoms".

Typical symptoms include malaise, shortness of breath, abnormal taste and smell, memory impairment, and decreased concentration. For each symptom, points for diagnosis at a medical institution and how to deal with patients. Is summarized.

In addition, although it is thought that the aftereffects will become less severe over time, it will have a large impact on social life depending on the symptoms, so we will introduce simple rehabilitation methods and how to proceed with support for returning to work.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, this is the first time we have compiled such a guide on sequelae, and we will update it as new data become available.
