What you hear there is the incessant comings and goings of the excavators, day and night, digging and clearing mounds of red earth.

In the background: one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Peruvian Andes.

We are in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas and at the foot of Machu Picchu.

It is here, in Chinchero, that in April 2021 the construction of the new international airport of Cusco began, which is scheduled to open in 2025. But, this project arouses the opposition not only of a part of the population local, but also many experts and international organizations who denounce the risks of damage to the environment and heritage.
