"Immortal Terror" is a gigantic creature that only appears in the dark.. video

Divers faced a very unique experience, when they saw a strange sea creature, off the coast of New Zealand, where a huge creature swam in front of them, which made them terrified at first sight.

Scientists call this creature a "Pyrosome", and although it may seem terrifying to non-professional divers at first glance due to its large size, it is actually a completely safe creature that humans can approach at a very close distance.

These creatures are part of a family of marine creatures known as "tunicates" or "sea fountains", and were given several strange nicknames, such as the title of sea crickets or sea "jellyfish."

A new scientific article published on "bgr" re-highlighted one of the strangest creatures observed in the depths of sea water in 2018, where videographer Steve Hathaway and his friend Andrew Battle discovered this creature that takes the form of a gigantic giant worm while filming a promotion tourist.

The length of the discovered sea worm was about 26 feet, (about 7.9 meters), and these transparent worm-like creatures glow in the form of a transparent bag.

Andrew Jeffs, professor of marine sciences at the University of Auckland, says that these creatures are very essential to the water and are a source of food, and other creatures such as turtles and spiny lobsters cling to the tube-shaped animal where they feed on it for more than a week.

These creatures come out at night to the surface of the sea, where they feed there on everything they find in the water, and although the discovered creature was giant for humans, this size is the largest ever discovered, ranging in size between approximately 8 meters and only one centimeter .

Scientists consider this creature to be "immortal" creatures, theoretically, because they are small, free-flowing colonies of hundreds or even thousands of individual organisms, which are known as "zooids", as these small, multicellular organisms pump water through their bodies to feed on phytoplankton. And particles of waste, other bacteria and others, as scientists assume that these small creatures that make up the large organism (the worm) are constantly regenerating and breeding, so the worm may live for periods considered “immortal” if the entire worm is not eliminated by another marine predator.

According to the previous report published in the journal "National Geographic", this creature gained its name "due to its ability to draw food from even the most harsh environments," and scientists consider that it is very rare to find giant worms of this size, but scientists are making more efforts to study and understand these creatures.
