The courage of a young Egyptian officer saves a church from a certain disaster

An Egyptian police officer showed great courage, when he single-handedly faced the fire that broke out in a church, and managed to control it before the civil protection forces arrived.

A security source told Sky News Arabia that the officer, Ahmed Ahmed Adel, rank of captain, from the guarding force of the Church of the Virgin Mary on the Nile Corniche in the Warraq area, north of Giza, was surprised by the sounds of explosions inside the church, and when he explored the matter, he found fires in the electrical transformers inside. the church.


He added that the young officer immediately informed the emergency police to send the civil defense forces, but he sensed the danger of waiting, so he rushed and grabbed one of the fire extinguishers and got himself in the middle of the fire, and continued to fight it until he put it out moments before the arrival of the civil defense forces.


The source stressed that this officer is not one of his duties to put out fires, and he is not a specialist in that, and he did not have sufficient tools, but he did so out of responsibility and duty.
