According to the new administrative organization of July 2018, Ati is the capital of the province of Batha.

It is a breeding area.

It turns out that this breeding is facing many problems.

First, most of the Chadian herd is concentrated in the arid and semi-arid areas of the country.

This signifies weakness and irregularity of the rains, and therefore dramatic droughts.

In this environment, we speak of an economy of survival.

How to make this breeding profitable, that is the challenge.

Tradition among breeders reserves red for men, and white for women.

Clearly, meat belongs to men, and milk is in the domain of women.

In these Sahelian zones, there are conservation problems for these perishable foodstuffs such as milk and meat.

In Ati, the women first formed groups to produce dried meat.

With the number, they formed a federation of groups.

In all, hundreds of women.

In order for women to work in this field, these traditions had to be overcome first.

Then face the administration in the organization phase, before starting the training phase.

So many novelties, it took an outside intervention.

First, the Ministry of Women, the Family and Child Protection through the

National Vocational Training Support Fund (FONAP).

Then the

Ministry of Livestock and Animal Productions

through the Regional Support Project for Pastoralism in the Sahel (PRAPS).
