Last part of our series on the May volcano eruption in eastern DRC.
The city of Goma lives under the perpetual threat of new eruptions that could destroy the capital of the province of North Kivu.
The mission of the OVG, the Volcanic Observatory of Goma, is to predict the movements of the volcano.

Due to lack of resources, the observatory worked with difficulty in the months preceding the eruption of May 22, 2021. After the eruption, the government promised to restore this institution to working order.
