The last human born in the 19th century dies at the age of 124

Francesca Susano, believed to be the "world's oldest person" and the last surviving woman born in the 19th century, has died in the Philippines at the age of 124.

Francesca Susanoo took her last breath on the evening of Monday, November 22, 2021. State officials in her home province of Cabancalan confirmed the death of the Filipino centenarian.

And her official declaration as the oldest person in the world at the age of 124 years has been verified by the Guinness Book of Records.

Documents say she was born on September 11, 1897 - a year before Spain relinquished rule of the Philippines.

It is believed that the secret to Lula's long life lies in following a diet consisting mainly of vegetables, with little meat and no pork.

Francesca also said before her death that not drinking also played a big role in their old age, The Sun reported.

Jake Carlin Gonzalez, Cabancalan's media officer, said Lula's cause of death had yet to be determined.

He told CNN Philippines that she would be tested for Covid-19, but it was not believed that she had any symptoms of the virus.
