For nearly 30 years, Li Xiaodong has used an ingenuity and two skillful hands to turn the decay into a miracle, and let many dead woods "resurrected".
Since 1993 when Li Xiaodong grabbed a knife to carve wood, tens of thousands of root carving works have come out. The artistic themes involve human allusions, mythical stories, flowers, birds and animals.
