New government announcements to stem the fifth wave of Covid-19 have raised their share of questions around the pandemic. Government spokesman Gabriel Attal answers these questions. The one that comes up most often is the need for a third dose of vaccine: “The vaccine allows the risk of having a severe form to be divided by nine and the risk of being infected by four. But what we see is that from a certain point, about six months, it loses a little in efficiency. We make a third dose to restore the effectiveness to its maximum. This third dose will be necessary seven months after the last injection for the health pass to be up to date.

Why continue to wear the mask?

“The vaccine makes it possible to limit the risk of being contaminated and of transmitting the virus, but not being totally so, there is still a risk of being contaminated.

»Screening tests remain free for people who have been vaccinated or have a medical prescription.
