The watch designs presented by Yugoslav watchmaker Miki Elita at Dubai Watch Week tell the philosophy of time in a unique way, as the hour hands and the seconds movement are not just tools that measure the passage of time, but carry many messages about the precious value of time.

Mickey complements this philosophy with the technical aspects of the industry, as he is keen to present his watches in a golden color, which enhances its aesthetics with unique and distinctive stones.

Mickey spoke to "Emirates Today" about these watches that he presents within the "Dubai Watch Week", saying: "When I invent the watches, I always strive to find an idea behind the design, and in the Week of Watches I present three designs. The first carries the watch that includes an animal that eats minutes as if it were It preys on time, to denote the importance and value of precious time, and this design seeks to remind people of the importance of time, while the second design carries many details related to the planets and the globe. He comes to complete the story of the planets, especially the sun and moon, and the complex movement of the succession of night and day and the passage of time.” As for the third design presented in the exhibition, it is in the form of a spacecraft, carrying strange green creatures in different poses, including those who dance or explore the place, especially as it highlights their exploration of life, and the watch highlights the details of time and the movement of the moon.

Regarding the themes of designs and how to implement them, he noted that the watches are all designed manually, as he works on design, cutting and movement in them himself, with the help of a few machines to complete the manual work, pointing out that he depends on the Swiss watch techniques for watches, and that is why the work takes a long time that extends for several months. It may take up to a year to complete one hour. Mickey uses stainless steel and then paints it with gold or chrome according to the design, taking care to insert some colored stones in order to decorate the designs.

Mickey is keen to find the philosophical side in the work, and considers that philosophy is an essential part of the artistic work of watches, as he has been working in the watch industry for 20 years, and for this he deliberately puts his own identity in the watches he offers, especially, especially that they are handmade, stressing that the space that machines take In the watch industry does not exceed 20% of the total work.

Mickey is participating in Dubai Watch Week for the first time, and expressed his happiness to participate in the exhibition, stressing that he chose to present the latest pieces that he completed in his studio to display in Dubai, given the importance of the exhibition and its collection of many leading and luxury brands.
