In the epigraph of this book, there are no quotes.

However, there are two definitions.

One of the word “History” with a capital H: “Academic discipline that became explosive material at the start of the 21st century”.

The other of the word "Ice": "glass and mirror, transparency and reflection, past and future".

Reading this novel, one has the impression that the author is a glassblower: he plays with the fire of history to give shape to another game, a game of mirrors between our time and that of Louis XIV, between a black Venice and a white Venice, or between a black Venus and a white Venus.

From one lagoon to another, that of Venice and that of Lagos in Nigeria - passing through the old swamp on which the Palace of Versailles was built - his pen draws the meanders of a long-term investigation in which mingle marabout and witch, artists and traders, Prince of Industry and courtiers of the King.

Former cultural advisor to Nicolas Sarkozy at the Elysee Palace, former president of the National Center for Cinema, and current public affairs manager at TikTok France,

Éric Garandeau

is also a novelist.

"Hall of mirrors", was published by Albin Michel editions.
