China News Service, Nanjing, November 23 (Xu Shanshan) The Earthquake Administration of Jiangsu Province announced on November 23 that on the same day, earthquakes of magnitude 2.4 and 1.2 occurred in Huaiyin District, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province.

As of press time, no reports of casualties and property losses have been received locally.

  According to the Jiangsu Seismic Network, at 18:32 on November 23, a 2.4-magnitude earthquake occurred in Huaiyin District (33.47 degrees north latitude, 118.86 degrees east longitude) in Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, with a focal depth of 9 kilometers.

  Subsequently, at 18:40, another 1.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in Huaiyin District (33.49 degrees north latitude, 118.94 degrees east longitude) with a focal depth of 5 kilometers.

  After the earthquake, many local citizens said that they felt the earthquake, but it did not affect their lives.

  Huaiyin District is located in the hinterland of the northern plains of Jiangsu. It is located at the boundary between the north and the south in terms of climate and geography. In 2001, it was withdrawn from the county and built as a district. It is one of the main urban areas of Huai'an and the north gate of the city.
