The health authorities reported 45,326 new corona infections to the RKI within one day.
A week ago there were 32,048 infections.
309 infected people died
According to the new information, 309 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours.

In view of the cap on the corona vaccine from BioNTech / Pfizer, which was ordered by Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU), patient advocates are calling for the vaccine deliveries to be redistributed.
The board of the Patient Protection Foundation, Eugen Brysch, pleaded in the newspapers of the editorial network Germany on Tuesday that the BioNTech vaccine should only be allocated to medical practices in the future.
The preparation from Moderna, on the other hand, should primarily be used in vaccination centers and provisional vaccination centers.
Brysch argued that it made a logistical difference whether vaccines were offered by Moderna or BioNTech.
An ampoule from BioNTech contains six vaccine doses, one from Moderna, however, 20. In addition, unlike in vaccination centers, vaccinations are not usually vaccinated daily in medical practices.
"This means that opened ampoules cannot easily be stored until the next vaccination appointment," said Brysch.

Spahn said an increase in the planned deliveries of the BioNTech agent for the coming week by one million to three million cans, but did not move away from capping the deliveries.

The background is that the demand for the BioNTech vaccine is likely to exceed the supply in the coming weeks.
According to the Federal Ministry of Health, a total of 24.3 million doses of the BioNTech agent and 26 million doses of the vaccine from Moderna will be available by the end of the year.
