Don't be fooled by his angelic air: Naïs Pirollet has fangs.
His talent and his composure allowed him, at only 24, to win the French selection of the Bocuse d'Or 2021, this Tuesday in Reims.
The young Lyonnaise surpassed five other candidates, all experienced chefs, in two days of competition, to sublimate a cuisine inspired by the Reims tradition.
The youngest of the competition thus becomes the first woman to represent France in the history of the prestigious gastronomic competition.
Heading for the Bocuse d'Or Europe in March
Naïs Pirollet knows the Bocuse d'Or well since she was part of Davy Tissot's brigade, the last winner of the competition last September and with whom she has worked for four years.
Its next stop: the Bocuse d'Or Europe 2022, on March 23 and 24 in Budapest.
Naïs Pirollet will join Team France, chaired by Serge Vieira, this time to revisit typical products of Hungarian gastronomy: venison, foie gras, sour cream and white cheese.
If it ranks in the top 10, it will be able to participate in the grand final of the Bocuse d'Or, in January 2023, at the Sirha Lyon.
And perhaps succeed Davy Tissot ...
