British writer J.K. Rowling said on her Twitter page that she was receiving threats.

According to the author of "Harry Potter", "three activists" posted a photo on the social network, which shows her home address.

“Last Friday, my family's address was posted on Twitter by three activists who took a photo in front of our house, carefully choosing the angle so that our address was visible,” Rowling said.

In a series of publications, she listed the names of girls who had previously contacted her, who also faced threats because of their opinions about gender.

“None of these women are as protected as I am.

They and their families live in an atmosphere of fear and suffering solely because they refuse to blindly agree that the socio-political concept of gender identity should replace the concept of gender, ”said J.K. Rowling.

The writer suggested that the “activists” who published the photos with her address hoped to hinder her in the fight for women's rights by their actions, and stressed that she did not intend to stop their activities.

Rowling noted that she already received enough letters with threats and accusations.

“They should have thought about the fact that they have already threatened me with death so many times that I could have pasted over the whole house with these threats, but I didn’t stop speaking,” she stressed.

Rowling also personally approached the transactivists.

“The best way to prove that your movement does not pose a threat to women is to stop harassing, harassing and threatening us,” the writer said.

Subsequently, the photos with the address of the writer were removed from the social network - the authors referred to a large number of "serious and threatening transphobic messages" they received and stated that they had decided to remove the publication.

Rowling thanked the followers who complained in support of Twitter about the post.

She also asked everyone who retweeted a post with a photo of the address, even with the purpose of condemning him, to remove the frame.

J.K. Rowling's remarks grabbed public attention in June 2020.

Then the writer published a post on Twitter, where she ironically commented on the phrase "people with menstruation."

“I am sure that these people used to have a name.

Help me remember - bogeymen?

warriors?

women? "

Rowling wrote.

After that, she was accused of hatred of transgender people, since she allegedly did not take into account the peculiarities of their physiology.

In addition, from this publication, some users of the site concluded that the writer denies women the right to be considered as such if they have health problems.

Soon, the writer clarified the meaning of her own words and explained that she was in favor of preserving the concept of gender.

“If gender does not exist, then there is no same-sex attraction.

If gender does not exist, then the reality lived by women all over the world is erased.

I have acquaintances transgender, and I love them, but if you destroy the concept of gender, it will deprive many of the opportunity to meaningfully discuss their lives.

Telling the truth doesn't mean hating, ”Rowling emphasized.

However, the bullying did not stop.

The writer was criticized not only by users of social networks, but also by the actors who participated in the filming of "Harry Potter", as well as the fan community.

In September 2020, the hashtag #RIPJKRowling ("Rest in Peace, J.K. Rowling") gained popularity on social networks - a new round of harassment began amid the release of Troubled Blood's book about a transvestite killer.

Then Rowling was convicted of "ostentatious hatred" towards representatives of the trans-community.

In the summer of 2021, the writer revealed that she received many threats and aggressive comments.

Some social media users are promising to "beat, rape, kill" Rowling.

On November 16, it became known that the writer will not appear in a special episode of "Harry Potter".

Return to Hogwarts will air on HBO Max on January 1, 2022, to mark the twentieth anniversary of the film franchise.

Many stars of the film adaptation will take part in the video recording, and Rowling can only be seen in archive footage.
