Starting on the morning of the 21st, our province experienced the second significant snowfall and cooling weather since the beginning of autumn this year. As of today, at 8 o'clock on the 22nd, the average snowfall in the province is close to 8 mm. The main place is in our province. In the southeastern part of the province, such as the south of Tonghua, Baishan, and the west of Yanbian, blizzards occurred in 13 cities and counties.

[Explanation] The reporter learned that the Jilin Provincial Meteorological Bureau initiated a three-level emergency response to major meteorological disasters (Blizzard).

The Jilin Provincial Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow warning signal for blizzard and a yellow warning signal for road ice and snow.

All parts of Jilin Province quickly launched a plan to deal with this round of extreme weather.

Affected by the blizzard, many highway entrances and exits in Jilin Province have been closed, and the airport has reduced and adjusted flights during snowy periods.

In Changchun City, the provincial capital, the education department issued an emergency notice, requiring schools in the compulsory education stage to implement measures to start and end school at different times and peaks.

Jilin City also issued a notice requesting that kindergartens and primary and secondary schools in the urban area suspend classes for one day.

According to forecasts by the Meteorological Department, from 22 to 23, most of Jilin will have winds of magnitude 4 to 6, and instantaneous winds of magnitude 7 to 8.

In the next five days, the average temperature in Jilin will be 2°C to 4°C lower than usual, and the temperature in the northern and eastern mountainous areas will be the lowest since the second half of the year.

The first is that the traffic impact will be relatively large. It is necessary to clear the snow in time to prevent traffic accidents. In addition, we expect that today and tomorrow, on the 22nd and 23rd, the province’s wind will also be relatively large, and there will generally be 4-6 levels. Westerly winds, gusts in parts of the eastern part of Yanbian can reach 7-8. It should be said that the temperature is relatively low. The lowest temperature is generally between minus 12 ℃ and minus 15 ℃.

[Explanation] The Jilin Province Meteorological Department reminded all localities to continue to strengthen the management of facility agriculture and animal husbandry, do a good job of heat preservation and reinforcement, and promptly clear the snow on the tops of simple buildings such as large sheds, cattle and sheep pens, and color steel houses.
