A building, located in rue Duguay-Trouin, in downtown Rouen (Seine-Maritime), is in the grip of an unprecedented invasion of rats.
The tenants are very worried and no longer dare to throw their trash cans.
A petition has been launched to bring up the problem, says
76 Actu
.
“It's been three years that it lasts, but there, it became uncontrollable, testified a tenant.
Yet our building is new.
He must be less than five years old ”.
Some building occupants hear the sound of scratching rodents in their pipes.
Another saw a rat get into his car.
Long-term solutions found
A resident said the problem would lie in the garbage collection bins lying along the building and which sometimes overflowed.
Neighboring buildings would in turn begin to be affected by the phenomenon.
The metropolis of Rouen has been made aware of the situation.
The local authority plans to replace the grouping bins pointed out by buried or aerial columns.
Work is already planned for December in some streets.
