A restaurant worker saves a young man from suffocating a chicken sandwich (video)

A worker at a fast food restaurant in the US state of Wisconsin has saved a young man from certain death after a large piece of a chicken sandwich got stuck in a ring.

According to a video filmed by the restaurant’s internal cameras, and circulated on social media platforms, the restaurant worker, Joseph Reinhart, (33 years), saw the young man in a state of suffocation, after his attempts to remove what was stuck in his throat failed, to hurry to intervene.

And Reinhart noticed, according to the “Daily Mail” newspaper, that the young man was in trouble and could not breathe, so he grabbed him from behind and began to lift him and shake him with force, pressing on his stomach to get the piece of chicken out, as part of it immediately rushed out of the young man’s mouth and some of it remained stuck in his throat and almost killed him. He continued to press on his stomach and lifted him to his feet again to get rid of what was left of the sandwich in the young man's throat.

The rescuer continued his efforts while two women watched him anxiously, one of whom is the young man's mother who also works in the restaurant, and she showed signs of fear and sadness for her son as she watched what was happening.

Although the incident took place last August, the video clip was not leaked until a few days ago.

It is reported that the restaurant worker did not previously receive any training, but he followed a first aid procedure in which pressure is applied to the abdomen to treat the upper airway obstruction caused by foreign bodies.
