The Tokyo District Court has decided to grant bail on two people, a former director of the university and a former president of a major medical corporation, who were charged with a back-office case involving a hospital attached to Nihon University.

The two have already paid bail.

Defendant Tadao Inoguchi (64), a former director of Nihon University, and Masami Himoto (61), a former director of the medical corporation "Kinshukai" headquartered in Osaka City, are rebuilding the Itabashi Hospital attached to Nihon University School of Medicine. He has been accused of taking over his post for causing damage to the university by leaking 420 million yen to the former president of the university, such as in a round-robin transaction.

The two lawyers had requested bail after being charged on the 16th of this month, but the Tokyo District Court decided on the 19th to grant the bail.

It is believed that even if bail was granted, the risk of escape or destruction of evidence was low.

The bail was paid to the court for 40 million yen by former director Inoguchi and 80 million yen by former director Himoto.

According to the people concerned, former director Inoguchi admits the flow of funds, but denies fraud, saying that "there is no damage to the university."

Former President Himoto admits the content of the indictment.
