Beijing will welcome the coldest since winter next Monday

The temperature is expected to drop between 4℃ and 6℃ within 48 hours, and the temperature will slowly rise from the 23rd.

A reporter from the Beijing Youth Daily learned from the Beijing Meteorological Observatory yesterday that under the influence of strong cold air, there will be strong winds and obvious cooling weather in Beijing from November 21 to 22, and there will be light snow or sporadic light snow in high-altitude mountainous areas.

Affected by the cold air, the lowest temperature in Beijing on the night of the 22nd will hit a new low since the beginning of winter this year.

Strong cold air arrived in Beijing on Sunday

After the thick fog shrouded in the daytime on the 18th, a weak cold air rushed to the "rescue field" that night, and Beijing finally entered a refreshing world yesterday morning.

It is a pity that the good times did not last long. Due to the weak cold air force, the sky cloudiness gradually increased yesterday afternoon. The sun "hidden" behind the clouds, the visibility of the atmosphere declined, and the weather became gloomy and cold.

It is expected that during the day today, Beijing will continue to have cloudy and mild weather, with little wind, and the highest temperature during the day can reach 10°C, so citizens can hurry up and go outdoor activities.

Because a strong cold air is about to arrive in Beijing on Sunday, accompanied by the roaring north wind and violent cooling, people who plan to go out may be "daunted" by that time.

This wave of cold air has a wide range of influence. According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, from November 19 to 22, the "strength" cold air will bring strong winds, cooling, rain and snow, and 80% of our country will be affected.

Its scope of influence is similar to that of the cold wave around the beginning of winter, and the temperature drop can reach Hainan Island directly.

According to Hu Xiao, chief meteorological analyst of China Weather Network, from the 19th to the 20th, the cold air will take the lead to bring strong winds to Xinjiang, the central and western parts of Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia and other places; The region; on the 23rd, the cold air will even affect the northern part of Hainan Island.

There will be 8 gusts in Beijing from 21st to 22nd

The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that due to the cold air, there will be significant cooling in many places including southern China this weekend to the beginning of next week, and the drop will exceed 10℃ in many places, such as central Inner Mongolia, northwestern Shanxi, western Shandong, western Guizhou and other places. The maximum temperature drop may exceed 15°C.

The lowest temperature in various places will generally drop to a low point around the 23rd. On the morning of the 23rd, the 0℃ line will press south from the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River to the northern Sichuan Basin. The lowest temperature in South China is only around 10℃.

Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Nanchang and other more than 10 provincial capital cities and municipalities directly under the central government have the lowest temperature in the past six months.

How big is the impact of this strong cold air on Beijing?

According to Lei Lei, chief forecaster of the Beijing Meteorological Observatory, the cooling range and snowfall range and intensity brought by the cold air are not as good as the cold wave from November 6 to 7, but the wind levels are basically the same.

Among them, from the morning of the 21st to the 22nd during the day, there will be northerly winds of magnitude 4 and 5 in the city, with gusts of around magnitude 8, and gusts of up to 9 to 10 in mountainous areas.

By the night of the 22nd, the wind will significantly weaken.

The lowest night temperature on the 22nd will reach the lowest since this winter

The passage of cold air will have a strong "hit" on Beijing's temperature, resulting in a significant drop in temperature. It is expected that the temperature in Beijing will drop by 4°C to 6°C within 48 hours. It will reach its lowest point on the night of the 22nd, and the lowest temperature in the plains will drop. At around -5°C, the lowest temperature in the mountainous area will drop to around -9°C, a record low since the beginning of winter this year.

In addition, from the afternoon to the night of the 21st, there will be light snow or sporadic light snow in high-altitude mountainous areas on the outskirts of Beijing, and the overall snowfall is expected to be less than 1 mm.

However, strong cold air is not useless.

As the strong cold air passes through the border, the haze will completely dissipate, and Beijing will start a continuous blue sky dominating mode.

After the cold air leaves Beijing, the weather in Beijing will still be clear and the sky will return to calm. Although the theme of coldness remains the same, the temperature will slowly rise from the 23rd.

It is estimated that by the 28th, the highest temperature in Beijing will be between 4°C and 10°C, and the lowest temperature will be between -5°C and 0°C.

The meteorological department suggested that the northerly wind brought by the cold air is relatively strong, and relevant departments must do a good job in reinforcement of simple houses, temporary structures, billboards, agricultural greenhouses, safety of outdoor high-altitude operations, and protection of trees from falling down.

At the same time, the dry air and high wind power can easily cause fires. The citizens should pay attention to the safety of fire and electricity.

The strong cooling and the wind-chill effect is obvious, and the body will feel very cold. The public is advised to keep warm and beware of colds and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

In addition, residents who burn coal for heating should take precautions against carbon monoxide poisoning.
