• The Muller circus, one of the 120 traveling circuses in France, has put its suitcases in the parking lot of a supermarket in La Valentine, arousing criticism from the animal defense association PAZ.

  • The city reaffirms that it does not authorize the installation of circus with animals on its public space, but that it is in this case a private land.

  • For Franck Muller, the owner of the circus, there is "no question of accepting" the law on animal abuse adopted Thursday by parliament.

A circus with wild animals took place until December 5 in Marseille, even though the city clearly prohibited their coming to its territory.

Except that the installation of the Muller circus in Valentine is completely legal.

It is done on private and not public land.

"We asked Géant Casino, which allowed us to install our tent in the parking lot," assures Franck Muller, the owner of this circus which claims to be traditional: "We have about twenty wild animals, tigers, lions. , zebras, a dromedary, etc.

".

To hear him, the performances of the weekend were sold out, or 300 seats at each screening.

She was alerted by members to this installation of the Muller circus in Marseille, which for her is no coincidence.

"I think it is a deliberate choice, because the mayor has taken an unambiguous position on the subject".

“We're going to outlaw ourselves.

"

"Their power is limited", she admits, however inviting the city of Marseille to "send a security commission" and "to remove and verbalize the wild posters on street furniture". So many things which, Friday, were not on the agenda according to our information, the city reaffirming "that it does not authorize the installation of circus with animals on its public space and that the circus questioned is on private land. "Still, for the PAZ association, the law against animal abuse, just passed," is a major, historic step. We will follow the application of this law, and the fate of wild animals in current circuses, which is central to us. "

By law, it will be prohibited to present them to the public within two years, and to detain them within seven years.

"We are always against, we cannot accept it, water will flow on the bridges", reacts Franck Muller, who rejects the accusations of mistreatment and also promises: "We will be outlawing ourselves.

We should already stop the bullfight, the most cruel spectacle in the world, he says.

And the racehorses that get beaten up all day!
