Toys you no longer know what to do with, your children no longer use them.

Give them away?

But to whom?

From Saturday until Sunday November 28, Ecosystem is launching the “Laisse dire ton cœur” operation by organizing a vast “solidarity” collection of second-hand toys.

The objective is twofold: to help low-income families and fight against waste by preventing them from being put in the trash or in the dumpster.

In France, around 40 million toys are thrown away each year, i.e. 100,000 tonnes of waste.

Board games, wooden, electric, electronic toys, puzzles, soft toys, dolls, costumes for all ages are welcome, provided they are still "complete" and in relatively "good condition".

Refurbished by the Foyer Notre-Dame des sans-abri

Twelve collection points have been established in as many schools in the Rhône (the list can be found here).

But not in Lyon itself.

The deposited toys will then be entrusted to the association Le Foyer Notre-Dame des sans-abri which will be responsible for sorting, cleaning and repairing them so that they appear new.

Secondly, they will be distributed to low-income families or sold at "solidarity" prices.
