A preliminary investigation by the Lyon public prosecutor's office for “sexual harassment” targets the LREM deputy of Rhône Yves Blein, who “fiercely” denies these alleged facts, reports AFP this Thursday from a judicial source, confirming information from

.

This investigation for “sexual harassment in the context of a work relationship”, entrusted to the departmental security of the Rhône, follows a complaint filed against X “by a former employee of the association Léo Lagrange during the summer 2021, ”the prosecution told AFP.

A suspicion of "political fierceness"

The elected representative "fiercely contests, with the greatest energy" the alleged facts, reacted his lawyer Hervé Banbanaste, who claims to have been warned of this investigation by the press.

“You have to be very careful in this matter.

We are waiting to be heard to obtain all the necessary clarifications.

From there, we will be able to ask for other investigations, ”continued Me Banbanaste.

"We are asking ourselves the question of a possible political fierceness", he concluded.

Former PS mayor of Feyzin (Rhône) between 2001 and 2017, Yves Blein, 67, is chairman of the board of directors of the Léo Lagrange association, a popular education organization.

Elected PS deputy for the 14th district of the Rhône in 2012, he retained his mandate in 2017, under the LREM label.
