The opposition municipal councilor of Maisons-Laffitte (Yvelines) Amélie Thérond Keraudren wished to make the voices of people living near Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport heard and suffering from noise pollution.

She launched an online petition that has already collected 10,000 signatures in five days.

.

However, it does not seek to condemn the airlines but to better regulate flights.

"We've been taking care of this since 1995"

For his part, the mayor of Maisons-Laffitte made it clear that he had been dealing with this problem since 1995. He would also have obtained that “the thresholds go up little by little” and that fines be drawn up in the event of non-compliance with routes and procedures.

Eric Dumoulin, president of the association of municipalities for the reduction of air pollution (Acréna), explained that it would not be possible to remove the approach corridors above the cities.

However, it would be possible to control the traffic further.

The noise pollution in question can be perceived differently from one person to another.

The noise tolerance was also modified after the confinement period, during which the number of air links had fallen sharply.
