Will the health crisis lead to the closure of the museum of animated models in Vallon-en-Sully (Allier)?
The question arises seriously when the place has seen its attendance drastically decrease.
According to France 3 Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, the funds of the association which manages the museum are empty.
“We were faced with the Covid-19 years.
People were confined and we did not receive any group visits in 2020 when they represent 65% of our turnover, ”explains Jean-Christophe Robert, president of the Vallon, arts et tradition association.
"A situation that is no longer manageable"
The museum is also encountering difficulties in the face of rising energy prices.
The association had to cut its telephone line in order to limit costs.
“We are reaching a situation that is no longer manageable,” he continues.
The association, which had to "draw around 6,000 euros from the reserves", is appealing for donations in order to save the museum and be able to reopen next spring.
"We hope that the departmental council will understand our situation",
blows Jean-Claude Robert.
The association thus relies on taking charge of the running costs of the museum.
For its part, the town of Vallon-en-Sully said it was ready to mobilize.
“I am very attached to this museum,” said Mayor Mohammed Kemih.
