Taylor Swift wins another round for her copyrights

It's official: iHeart Media, America's largest radio network, will broadcast only re-recorded versions of Taylor Swift songs.

The Texas star has indeed returned to the studio after failing to redeem his masters.

Not admitting defeat, she had relied (rightly) on her fans to pull the rug out from under Scooter Braun's feet.

The latter, after having bought his old label, Big Machine Records, sold it to a pension fund while the interpreter of

had made him an offer to buy back his catalog.

Faced with the impossibility of recovering his rights to his original titles, the artist has therefore re-recorded them.

By broadcasting only these new versions, the radio allows Taylor Swift to receive rights to her works, which she cannot claim with the versions in the catalog of her former label.

Better than the original

“Whenever Taylor re-records a new song, we immediately replace the old version. Our stations will always provide songs that artists want to share and fans want to listen to. Listeners let us know they can't wait to hear every track from his Taylor's Version. We are delighted to provide a platform to share them with them, as well as all the stories behind these titles coming from Taylor herself, ”said in a statement, relayed by the NME, Tom Poleman, the programs manager of iHeartMedia.

So far, Taylor Swift has released two re-recordings: 

earlier this year, and

last Friday.

Each of these albums was a massive success upon release.
