Medog County is located in the southeast of Tibet, on the lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, surrounded by snow-capped mountains.

In the past, it was called a "highland island" because there were no roads.

In 2013, the Medog Highway, which was 117 kilometers in length and crossed 6 fault zones, was completed and opened to traffic, allowing Medog to end the history of China's last county without highways.

Nowadays, villagers here can easily go out to work, access, electricity, and internet, and the gradual improvement of hardware facilities has also continuously improved the quality of life of the villagers.

In 2019, Medog County officially got rid of poverty.
