The epidemic resumption is more and more felt in France.
According to figures published by Public Health France, the incidence rate recorded during the week of November 6 to 12 exceeds 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
This threshold had not been reached since mid-September.
If we do not yet speak of outbreaks of cases as in other European countries like Russia or Germany, it is clear that this figure has increased considerably in a short time.
Indeed, seven days earlier, according to figures recorded between October 30 and November 5 by Public Health France, the incidence rate was only 73 per 100,000 inhabitants.
Last Tuesday, Olivier Véran assured during a televised speech that the situation looked "clearly at the start of a fifth wave".
The government has since put in place various measures to try to slow the spread of the virus and avoid overwhelming hospitals.
In the past 24 hours, 631 Covid-19 patients had to be hospitalized, bringing the total number to 7,361, including 1,257 in critical care.
