More than 2,400 passengers stranded at Urumqi International Airport due to foggy weather

At about 11:25 on the 16th, freezing and foggy weather occurred at Urumqi International Airport. At about 11:40, the airport started the low-visibility operation procedure and implemented Class III operation.

At 13:30, the airport started an emergency response to the medium-area delay, and the local meteorological department forecasted that the weather would improve at 16:00.

As of 15:30, the airport has 138 outbound flights scheduled for the whole day, 56 flights have been implemented, 18 flights have been delayed, and 13 flights cancelled; Class 4, Karamay Class 4, Turpan Class 15, Kuqa Class 2, Dunhuang Class 2, Jiayuguan Class 1), return 4 classes (Akesu Class 1, Mianyang Class 1, Chongqing Class 1, Kuche Class 1), 11 classes were cancelled.

There were 2412 passengers stranded in the terminal.
