Soran Ismail was accused of rape in 2017. He denies any wrongdoing, and the preliminary investigation was dropped due to lack of evidence.

The documentary "Persona non grata" was broadcast in two parts in April this year, and consisted largely of interviews with Ismail where he told about his experience.

The complainants believe that the programs were one-sided and that Ismail was given a lot of space to clean itself.

SVT has also been criticized from several quarters for the documentary.

However, the Review Board does not consider that the program violates the requirements of impartiality and objectivity.

The committee writes in its decision that “the programs did not claim to sort out the facts or the truthfulness of the accusations against A (Ismail).

Instead, the starting point for the current programs was to describe A's experience of being accused of rape and sexual harassment without the accusations having been tried by a court. "

However, three members disagreed and believe that the programs should be dropped.
