"Emirati Publishers" appreciates the directives of the ruler of Sharjah to establish a "distribution platform company"
The president and members of the Emirates Publishers Association praised the qualitative step taken by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to establish a "Platform Distribution Company", which embodies the keenness of the Emirate of Sharjah on the sustainability of the publishing industry at the Arab and international levels.
They also valued the efforts of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the International Publishers Association, in supporting the company's work plan, whose official identity and vision were launched during the 40th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair organized by the Sharjah Book Authority under the slogan "Here.. you have a book" and concluded yesterday evening. At the Expo Center Sharjah.
Ali Obaid bin Hatem, President of the Emirates Publishers Association, stressed that "Passa Distribution Company" comes within the efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah to support the book industry and provide all the factors that contribute to supporting publishers and securing their requirements by easing their financial burdens and helping them reach their work in various Arab and international publishing markets with less costs.
Iman bin Shaybah, the association's vice president, noted the importance of distribution in the book publishing process, stressing that the platform for distribution company came to facilitate procedures for publishing houses and enable them to reach their books to readers of different segments everywhere.
Muhammad Bin Dukhain, a member of the board of directors of the association - treasurer, said that "Platform Distribution Company" contributes to overcoming many of the challenges faced by the local and Arab publishing sector by creating solutions that help distribute books at the state level as a start and then start to provide regional and then international distribution services .
Dr. Al-Yazia Khalifa, a member of the board of directors of the association - the secretary, said that the establishment of the company comes in response to the local and Arab publishing market and its aspiration to reach publishing publications everywhere in the easiest way and at the lowest costs.
Abdullah Al Kaabi, a member of the association's board of directors, confirmed that the directive to establish the company came as a continuation of the efforts and initiatives of the Emirate of Sharjah in developing the publishing industry in the country in line with the comprehensive Sharjah cultural project.
The vision of "Platform Distribution Company" seeks to be the first source of Arabic books in order to expand the reading area in the region and the world within the values of originality, excellence, passion, commitment and innovation, embodying the cultural project of Sharjah, which pays special attention to the book and its industry and facilitates its access to various segments of readers everywhere. The company's mission also included working to provide integrated and innovative services for writers, publishers and readers in the UAE and the Arab world, including editing, design, marketing, production and distribution at a high level of quality to contribute to the rooting of reading and the sustainability of knowledge.
