  The first is to encourage parties to use the electronic file system to send and receive all documents, and to follow up on the status of the case, pay for litigation fees and other fees through the electronic file system and the court's integrated online service system, without having to go to the court to handle it.

The second is to better integrate the electronic trial procedures of witnesses, and announced new rules for remote trial during the new crown pneumonia pandemic, allowing online litigation of all civil cases, and trial and litigation procedures can be conducted in places deemed appropriate by the court.

  [Explanation] Varau Tavachin said that electronic litigation procedures are a new thing. Although restricted by the parties' electronic equipment and network signals, it can provide a reference for resolving international economic and trade disputes.

  Once effective legislation and rules have been formulated, the technologies needed to support electronic procedures have been widely used and all relevant personnel in the judicial system have adapted to this new procedure, electronic litigation will truly become a new routine procedure.

  [Explanation] In today's era, the rapid development of information technology has brought many new challenges to law enforcement and judicial institutions in various countries.

The President of South Africa’s Supreme Court of Appeal, Mandissa Maya, said that attention should be paid to combating cyber crimes. To this end, South Africa has promulgated the “Cyber ​​Crime Act” and the “Personal Information Protection Act”.

  In addition to this legislation, we have also established the National Cyber ​​Security Advisory Committee, whose task is to advise the Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services on policy, legal and technical issues, and other matters related to cyber security.

The new legislation sends an important signal to the world that South Africa will take the fight against cybercrime seriously.

The forum also released the Beijing Declaration of the International Forum on the Rule of Law in China (2021).
