Perfection is one of the attributes of God Almighty, and we often hear the phrase: “We all have flaws, and perfection is for God alone.”

But as human beings we do not stop striving for perfection in anything, and the quest for perfection is often picky, but the truth is different because perfectionism is a harsh lifestyle that may hinder your career or life progress.

To be human you must err, perfectionists do not accept and reject this fact because they do not admit their shortcomings.

To compensate for these shortcomings, they raise expectations to a high level that no one can reach, or let's say an unrealistic level.

Perfectionists push themselves hard to achieve the full mark in tasks they deem important, but ironically, this narrow conception of success leads them directly to that horrific nightmare that haunts them: failure.

Perfectionists not only break when they fail to achieve a certain goal, but they drown in shame because they label themselves a fiasco.

Perfectionism is associated with a range of emotional problems, most notably depression and anxiety, and in some extreme cases, it has led its owners to commit suicide.

Do not look at perfectionism as a way of life. Rather, it is your natural right as a human being to try and make mistakes. Do not be hard on yourself and look at the inventions around you, as they did not come complete, but rather came with many defects, and with time they evolved and became the excellent condition that you see on it.

Al-Kamali often hesitates to get rid of this trait because he thinks that it gives him what distinguishes him, and if he leaves it, he will become like the rest of the people.

Al-Kamali says to others: I am very successful because of this trait, so why should I leave it?!

It means that he sees this trait as a superpower that has caused his success.

Perfectionism is not a superpower, but rather makes a person weak and prone to emotional problems.

Imagine how productive you could be if you set aside your fantasies.

Don't fall victim to all or nothing, 90/100 is still an excellent score.

The human mind falls victim to this type of thinking because it searches for patterns that simplify the decision-making process. It is easy to distinguish between white and black, but it is difficult to distinguish shades of gray, for example.

You can always achieve your goals without perfection, you can achieve a high degree with honors without the need for a full degree, think about excellence, not perfection.

To avoid failure, perfectionists leave tasks they know are difficult, so they choose tasks that keep them in the safety zone, and thus lose what may teach them new experiences in life, and the result is that the perfectionist does not add anything to his experience.

Always remember that failure is a universal human experience and it is an opportunity to teach you how to grow. A sense of failure is better than success without taste.

Attitude

The goal of all annual employee performance appraisals is to highlight outstanding and not complete performance, and there is no consideration for perfection in them. That is why it was called, for example, but not exclusively, the "Dubai Award for Excellence in Governmental Performance".

According to HR experts, perfectionism is to invent a new, unheard of way of doing work in order to get a perfect rating.

Leave your perfectionism and focus on excellence.
