India is known for its many surprising stories, so it is not surprising that it is called a wonderland.

One such strange story is from a small village near the Indo-Pakistan border in the Param district of Rajasthan, called Deras, where only about 800 people live.

What distinguishes this village is not the beauty of its nature, or its agricultural crops, but rather a strange custom, as the customs of the village dictate that every man should have at least two wives.

The people of the village believe that whoever marries will not have any children from his first wife, and therefore if the husband wants to have children, he must marry for the second time.

According to the Anandabazar website, the men of the village used to marry for the second time based on this strange belief.

According to the site, this strange ritual started from a story that happened in the past, where no one of the villagers had children from his first wife, and later he married for the second time and had children from her.

Thereafter, whenever a man from the village encounters such an experience, he remarries, and in this way polygamy became a compulsory village custom.

The question here is what if the man had children from his first wife? It seems that the answer takes us to something more strange, because the first wife does not have the right to have children throughout her life, and she also does not have the right to establish a marital relationship with her husband, and in this case the wife is not granted First no rights, where you live like maids.

There is another strange reason behind this strange custom, which is an acute water crisis in this village, where the women of the family have to walk at least five kilometers to fetch water from a place far from the village.

A woman cannot fetch water on foot if she is pregnant, and this is also the reason why men marry for the second time.

And if a man opposes this custom, the whole village unites against him, even his family will abandon him, and he is expelled from the village.

If the second wife does not give birth, the husband must marry again.

The husband must take full responsibility for all family members.
